3-Layer Fruit Smoothie

I love Valentine's Day, but not in the fancy-dinner-prix-fixe meal sense. I enjoy it since it contains adorable elements that remind me of my childhood.

Tiny paper cards, baked cupcakes with pink frosting, heart-shaped candies... So, in the spirit of being clever, I created this three-layer fruit smoothie!

I constantly see layered fruit smoothies on Instagram and wonder, "Who the heck has time to make three separate smoothies?"

But here I am. It was actually quite straightforward, and while I won't be making it every morning, I believe it's enjoyable as a special occasion fruit smoothie.

Each layer of this fruit smoothie contains almond milk, which keeps the blender running and adds creaminess. Otherwise, they contain unique components that make each layer delightful and distinct.

The only tricky element here is that you must freeze each layer - just enough to allow it to set a little before adding the next.

This fruit smoothie is not only adorable, but it's also a delicious treat with three tastes in one.

– ½ cup Almond Breeze almondmilk Vanilla – ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons almond butter – ½ frozen banana – 1 tablespoon cocoa powder – 2 soft Medjool dates, pitted – handful of ice
