Best French Toast Recipe

There is an art to preparing the best French toast, and I will share my tips and methods for striking the ideal blend of buttery, crisp edges and custardy interiors. These ideas will help you make better French toast at home.

Breakfast was always a huge affair in our house growing up. We still adore making breakfast for supper since we like it so much.

I've spent years perfecting French toast, and I'm going to share all of my secrets with you.French toast is made by soaking sliced bread in a creamy custard batter made with whisked eggs, milk or cream, sugar, and spices before pan-frying it in butter.

It is generally garnished with powdered sugar, sweet cream butter, fresh fruit, or maple syrup.

Choosing the correct bread will determine whether your homemade French toast succeeds or fails. I recommend using thick, strong bread, such as challah or brioche bread. Sturdy bread absorbs the custard without turning soggy.

Begin by cutting challah or brioche bread into thick slices. It is recommended to use stale, day-old bread because it is stronger and can soak up the custard mixture.

Whisk together the cream/milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla essence, and cinnamon until thoroughly blended. A recommendation is to use an immersion blender or blender to properly incorporate the cinnamon into the custard.

Dip each slice of bread in the custard mixture. Allow to soak both sides for around 20 seconds. Carefully remove the bread from the custard and allow any extra custard to drain off.
