  INGREDIENT NOTES :

Flour 

This recipe uses whole wheat, although spelt and all-purpose work too. Not recommended: coconut flour.

Cocoa 

Use your favorite cocoa, cacao, or dutch cocoa powder—organic is best.

Sugar 

I used pure cane, but coconut, turbinado, date, and sugar-free monk fruit work too.

Baking powder 

Preferably aluminum free.

Unsweetened almond milk  

Please feel free to use any non-dairy milk you choose, such as oat, cashew, soy, or any other option.

Oil 

I have used olive oil with a mild flavor, but any oil with a neutral flavor will do it. Additionally, coconut oil at room temperature is effective.

Vanilla 

Can skip if using a vanilla flavored plant milk, or add extra to taste.
